Ruth Roman was born on June 22nd, 1939, in Lynn Massachusetts. The actress is the eldest child of Lithuanian Jewish parents Mary Pauline Gold & Abraham Roman. In her early years, Ruth Roman's father, a carnival barker, passed away, which caused her mother, Mary Pauline (Gold) to be an attendant or cleaner to help them be able to survive. Ruth was born in the poorest neighborhood in Boston Massachusetts in which she went to the school. She left the school only after two years in order to pursue an acting career. It was not without difficulties. After obtaining a position in New York as a model for a magazine that dealt with detectives, she was unable to get jobs in the stage. As a hat check girl in a nightclub, she quit and returned to Boston. In the New England Repertory Company was the first position she held as an actor who was steady. Earned money working during the day in the ushering department. She received a master's diploma in drama from Bishop-Lee Theatre School.
