Finch began playing softball as young as the age of 5. Doug, her father, was the very first coach of Jennie's pitching. He also created the Finch Windmill, a conditioning tool that Jennie started using when she was 10 years old. She threw 13 no-hitters and six flawless games while in high school. Her next stop was University of Arizona. University of Arizona where she was an All-American three times as well as a first baseman.
